I recently chatted with Dena Ladd. the Co-founder and Director of the Modern Health Alliance.

The MHA develop and support legislative, regulatory, and other policies that encourage research, education, and product development derived from psilocybin and cannabis. This path will assist to identify benefits and treatments of new medicines in healthcare for patients with medical and mental health needs.

Dena initially co-founded the Modern Health Alliance with Ross O’Brien, the Founder & Managing Partner of Bonaventure Equity, LLC and Michael Werner, Co-Founder + Policy Director who is also Healthcare and Life Sciences Partner at Holland & Knight.

Recent ballots put forward in Oregon, Washington, Michigan, Colorado, and California have these states on track to permit psilocybin to be manufactured and used for medicinal purposes. Herein lies the challenge: delivering medicine is not a recreational or access issue. By bringing new medicines through the proper FDA regulatory pathway, supported by rigorous science, these therapies can make a massive impact on the healthcare landscape.
