Questions
Questions podcasters ask first
Short answers on setup, results, your website and billing.
Getting started
What do I need to start?
Your podcast's RSS feed address and a website where your episodes live.
Where do I find my RSS feed?
In your podcast host's dashboard. Look for "RSS feed" or "Feed URL". It usually ends in .xml or /rss.
How long until my first transcript is ready?
Most episodes are done within an hour of being added. Long episodes can take longer.
Do I need to upload audio?
No. Host Kit reads the audio from your feed.
The results
How accurate are the transcripts?
Clear studio audio comes out very close to word for word. Crosstalk, music beds and phone lines lower accuracy. You can edit any transcript on your site.
How are speakers named?
Host names come from your account. Guest names come from the episode title and show notes. You can correct any name and the change applies to the whole transcript.
Is AI involved?
Yes. Speech recognition produces the transcript. AI models clean it up, write the summary and suggest topics. Everything is published to your site as text you can edit.
Who owns the transcripts?
You do. They are your words, published on your site.
Will this help search traffic?
Transcripts put the words of each episode on a page that search engines can read. Topic pages link related episodes together. Results depend on your site and your subject.
Your website
Which websites work?
WordPress fully. Wix and Squarespace with the Pro add-on. Any other site through copied HTML.
Will it change my theme?
No. The plugin uses your theme's fonts and colors.
What if an episode has no post on my site?
The plugin can create one, or hold the transcript until you add the post. You choose in the plugin settings.
Does Host Kit host my podcast?
No. Your audio, feed and host stay exactly where they are.
Account and billing
What happens if I cancel?
No new episodes are processed after the paid month ends. Everything already on your site stays.
Can I add a second podcast later?
Yes. Add the feed from your account. It gets its own plan. On Studio, it also gets its 4 most recent back episodes in its first month.
Is my data shared?
No. Your audio and transcripts are used only to produce your pages.
